Dorothy F. Chace married Arthur Paul Mattos. Together, they lived in Newport, Rhode Island at 6 Barney Street and had four children. Dorothy Chace was born on June 24, 1921 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She died on February 25, 2009. Arthur Mattos was born May 27, 1917 in Taunton, Massachusetts. He died on May 10, 2004 at his home in Newport, Rhode Island. They are buried in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown, Rhode Island. Their four living children are Carolyn, Kathy, Arthur Jr. and Barbara. 

                                                          

     The parents of Dorothy F. Chace were Fannie L. Harvey and Frank Chace. Fannie Chace was born in 1881 and died in 1945. Frank was born in 1883 and died in 1961. They are buried in a cemetery in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Their children were Alma, Annie Burnside, Charles, Myra Louse, Perry Frances, and Dorothy. The family lived in multiple homes in Portsmouth, Rhode Island; some of which still exist today. Three of the home locations have been located but the others have yet to be found. 



    The parents of Frank Chace were Perry F. Chase and Mary Olive Simmons. Perry Chase was born on August 30, 1858 in Somerset, Massachusetts. In 1870, he was a resident of Fall River Ward 1, Massachusetts. He married Mary Olive Simmons on May 13, 1877 in Tiverton, Rhode Island. In 1880, he resided in Fall River Massachusetts. On December 14, 1909, Perry died in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Mary Olive Simmons resided in Portsmouth, Rhode Island in 1920. In 1930, she lived in Fort Pierce, Florida. In 1935, she became a resident of St. Lucie, Florida. Her death date has yet to be found. Their children were Frank, Walter (1864-1934), George (1878-?), Eva (1882-?) and Elmer (1885-1888). 



     The parents of Perry F. Chase were Perry Chase and Hannah W. Anthony.  Perry Chase was born on September 10, 1816 in Rhode Island. He died in 1880 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He married Hannah W. Anthony on December 25, 1838 in Bristol, Rhode Island. In 1850, they resided in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. In 1860, they lived in Somerset, Massachusetts. In 1870, they lived in Fall River Ward 1, Massachusetts. Perry Chase died in 1880 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Hannah W. Anthony resided and died in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1880. Their children were Hannah (1840-?), Mary A. (1842-?), Joseph (1844-?), Anne (1849-?), Anna (1853-?), Prescott (1856-1909), Perry F. (1858-1909), Cora (1860-?), Sydney (1862-?), and Walter (1864-1934). 



      The parents of Perry Chase were Daniel Chase and Hannah Chase. Daniel Chase was born on June 6, 1793 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He married Hannah Chase on November 3, 1812 in Tiverton, Rhode Island. They resided in Tiverton, Rhode Island in 1860. Daniel died on March 12, 1861 in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Hannah Chase was born on November 22, 1793 in Tiverton, Rhode Island. She died on December 16, 1860 in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Her parents were Nathan Chase (1766-1827) and Annie Sherman (1770-1856). The children of Daniel and Hannah were Charlotte (1813-1896), Daniel (1815-1904), Perry (1816-1880), Albert (1818-1914), Robinson (1820-1890), Hannah (1822-1910), Ruth Anne (1824-1888), Caroline E. (1827-1905), John Frances (1829-1911), and Eliza V. (1831-1884).
 


      The parents of Daniel Chase were Daniel Chase and Hannah Lawton. Daniel Chase was born February 2, 1759 in Providence, Rhode Island. He first married Joanna Mott and had no children. Then, he married Hannah Lawton on May 6, 1778. Daniel Chase was the second son of Aaron and Elizabeth Perry Chase. He was a substantial man and farmer of Portsmouth, prominently identified with the public affairs of his town and section. He represented Portsmouth for fourteen years in the General Assembly of the State, where he was given the sobriquet of the “Quaker Member”. In 1805, he built a large brick mansion near the south end of the island. It was burned on August 26, 1909. Mr. Chase was an influential citizen, respected and esteemed by his many associates and acquaintances. He died on November 19, 1823 on Prudence Island, Rhode Island. Hannah Lawton was born on July 9, 1756 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She died in September of 1825. The parents of Hannah Lawton were Giles Lawton and Hannah. Their children of Daniel and Hannah were Elizabeth, Mary (1650-1725), Darius (1782-1863), George (1785-1875), Sarah (Sally) (1787-1869), Daniel (1793-1861), and Ruth (1796-1885). Their second son, George, was born March 3, 1784 in Portsmouth and died in Westerly, Rhode Island at the home of his daughter, Sarah E. Nye in January of 1873. He made his home on Prudence Island, where he engaged quite extensively in farming and stock raising, making a specialty in sheep. He made extensive improvements on his farm. 



     The parents of Daniel Chase were Aaron Chase and Elizabeth Perry. Aaron Chase was born on March 15, 1734 in Freetown, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Perry on November 17, 1754 in Middletown, Rhode Island. He resided in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. During the Revolutionary War, while Rhode Island was occupied by British troops, Aaron Chase's family with others, were driven from their homes by the British soldiers, their houses and farm buildings burned, and their property destroyed. His son, Darius, a lad perhaps 12 or 14 years old, was escaping with others and had a shot gun which he was trying to save from the general destruction. They were fired upon by some of the soldiers, and he was killed. This is an example of the outrageous perpetrated by the British, and by their Tory allies, throughout the entire struggle for independence. He died on June 10, 1813 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Elizabeth Perry was born in 1737 in Somerset, Massachusetts. She died on March 18, 1823 in Swansea, Massachusetts. Their children were Elizabeth (1755-1822), Darius (1757-1776), Daniel (1758-1823), Martha (1760-1761), Alice (1762-1827), Perry (1764-?), Sarah (1767-1860), Royal (1769-?), Lydia (1771-1850), Ruth (1774-1835), and Mary (1777-1869). 




      The parents of Aaron Chase were James Chase and Alice Anthony. James Chase was born February 12, 1705 in Swansea, Massachusetts. He married on May 11, 1727 at the Friend’s Meeting (Church) in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. James and Zaccheus were their executors. He died on April 20, 1782 in Middletown, Rhode Island. Alice Anthony was born on May 22, 1705 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She died on March 20, 1762 in Middletown, Rhode Island. Her parents were William Anthony and Mary Coggeshall. The children of James and Alice were Elizabeth (1727-1814), James (1729-1780), Alice (1732-1810), Aaron (1734-1813), Paul (1736-1796), Zaccheus (1737-1816), Mary (1739-1821), Daniel (1741-1813), and Peter (1743-1782). 




      The parents of James Chase were Isaac Chase and Elizabeth Blethen. Isaac Chase was born in 1682 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Blethen on February 10, 1704 in Salem, Massachusetts. He died on April 1, 1760 in Bristol, Rhode Island. Elizabeth Blethen was born on August 29, 1684 in Swansea, Massachusetts and died in 1719 in Swansea, Massachusetts. Their children were James (1705-1782), Waightstill (1708-1716), Isaac (1710-1796), William (1712-1782), Ezekiel (1714-1824), and Elizabeth (1715-1783). 




      The parents of Isaac Chase were Jacob Chase and Mary Hall. Jacob Chase was born in 1646 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He married Mary Hall in 1674 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He died on April 16, 1734 in Swansea, Massachusetts. Mary Hall was born in 1650 in Taunton, Massachusetts. She died in Swansea, Massachusetts in 1730. Their children were Ephraim (1681-1779), Joshua (1681-1781), Isaac (1682-1760), Samuel (1685-1781), Hannah (1690-1785), Mary (1696-1791), Joseph (1705-1781), Hannah (1720-?), and Oliver (1724-1777).
The parents of Jacob Chase were William Chase and Elizabeth Holder. William Chase was born on June 15, 1621 in Norfolk, England. He died on February 27, 1685 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Elizabeth Holder was born in 1624 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. She died in 1662 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Their children were William (1645-1737), Jacob (1646-1734), John (1649-1684), Elizabeth (1651-1716), Abraham (1652-1738), Joseph (1652-1738), Samuel (1656-1755), and Benjamin (1682-1767). 




      The parents of William Chase were William Chase and Mary Louney Townley. William Chase was born in 1595 in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England. He was christened at Rogate Parish in Suffex, England. In 1630, he migrated from Chesham, England to Roxbury, Massachusetts with his wife, youngest son, William, and Governor Winthrop. He requested on October 19, 1630 to become a Freeman at Roxbury and was admitted on May 14, 1634. In 1638, William Chase leaves Roxbury and goes to Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He was soon after admitted to Roxbury as a member of the Church. He was Yarmouth constable on March 5, 1638 and Yarmouth surveyor of the highways on June 3, 1657. In 1634, he was also on the list of men able to bear arms in Yarmouth. He owned eight acres upland and six acres at Stony Cove. Later in life, he was frequently associated with Robert Dennis and his wife, Mary. On October 3, 1654, Robert Dennis acted on behalf of William Chase in settling a debt. Mary Dennis also witnessed the will of William Chase. Robert Dennis was one of the appraisers of William Chase’s estate and was ordered to divide the estate. Mary Louney Townley was born on March 5, 1603 in Norfolk, England. Like her husband, she too was admitted to Roxbury as a member of the church. She had a paralytic humor which fell into her backbone, so that she could not stir her body. She suffered from a lot of pain because of this because her backbone would go out of joint. She rested in bed for four and a half years feeling nothing but misery. Soon after, she had a child and named her Mary. She died a natural death of inward sickness on October 6, 1659 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Their children were William Chase (1621-1685), Mary (1637-1652), and Benjamin (1639-?). Their son, William Chase Jr. was a drummer boy in Myles Standish’s Co. which fought off the Narragansett Indians. He was also of the Quaker religion. Their daughter, Mary, was given the nickname, “Mary, the daughter of Goodman Chase the elder”.
